Centreville official arrested for alleged embezzlement
CENTREVILLE — A Centreville public official was arrested by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department Friday, March 5 on charges of embezzlement.
The official, whose name the Commercial-News will release upon arraignment later this month, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Friday on two charges of embezzlement of $20,000 to $50,000. They were released on Saturday afternoon after posting bond.
Arraignment in the case in St. Joseph County 3B District Court is set for Thursday, March 25 at 8:15 a.m. Judge Jeffrey Middleton is expected to preside over the hearing.
