Allen has earned his trust
To the editor:
The election season is ramping up and races for president and local officials are in the news daily. We hear about our national campaigns more often but locally we have a better chance to know and trust whom we are voting for.
The County Commission District 3 race is a good example. Dennis Allen is running as a Republican for this open position. If you don’t know and trust Dennis, you should.
I have known Dennis Allen since my late elementary school years. We were in class together, played sports together and did things most small town kids do.
After a couple of years of college Dennis enlisted in the Marines and left the area while I began my career at the Sheriff’s Office. Dennis and his family moved back to the area a few years later and was offered a position in Corrections at the Sheriff’s Office where he started his local law enforcement career.
Before I was elected Sheriff and serving as a shift Sergeant, Dennis worked under me. After my election in 1989, I promoted Dennis to Undersheriff and he served in that capacity for 20 years. As a direct employee and the Undersheriff, Dennis was responsible for the day to day operation of the Sheriff’s Office, which is not an easy job. I was very happy to have Dennis working with me. I have had plenty of time to know Dennis and he certainly has earned my trust.
Dennis is smart and hardworking. When given a task he doesn’t quit until he gets it done. He will listen with respect, give you his opinion, but will always move forward to take action on something that needs to be done.
Your voice in the Third County Commission District will be carried honorably and credibly by Dennis Allen. I urge you to vote for Dennis Allen on Nov. 8 for District 3 County Commissioner.
