The sincerity of David Benac’s campaign
To the editor:
I’m writing this letter in support of David Benac for Congress. I met David at the first Democratic Candidate Forum in Paw Paw after the 2016 election. He came in with flyers that already outlined what he stood for, as well as the credentials of having worked behind the scenes on Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign within the state of Michigan.
Whether the issue is universal healthcare, climate change, education, or income inequality, David provides a clear and bold progressive platform, which the Democratic Party clearly failed to embrace in 2016. Over the past year, I’ve attended several other town halls and candidate forums only to leave the venue even more certain of who I’ll vote for.
I donated to the campaign last year right around this time and received a handwritten thank you note in the mail about a week later. Although it may seem like a small token of appreciation, it’s those small gestures that underscore the sincerity of David’s campaign. I will be voting for David Benac in the Democratic Primary on Aug. 7 and I hope to vote him into Congress in November.
