Stopping the insanity
To the editor:
If our cities were being attacked by foreign aggressors and innocent
civilians were being killed, I believe the natural reaction would be
retribution, revenge, or some other version of “an eye for an eye and
a tooth for a tooth.”
I am afraid that this same reaction is happening in Syria, Yemen,
Afghanistan, Iraq, the Philippines, and any other country in which
we have a military presence, either overt or covert.
People sympathetic to the horrors that are occurring in these
countries are striking back in the only way they know how. As a
leading power in the world we need to set the example by decreasing
our military presence gradually throughout the world.
Somebody has to stop this insanity.
