Upton’s lead
To the editor:
There are at least 70 water systems in Michigan that have higher lead levels than Flint. Benton Harbor is one of them. Under the direction of the Environmental Protection agency all water systems are required to be tested for lead on a regular basis. Federal funding for the EPA has been cut and the EPA has difficulty overseeing the lead problem. Fred Upton has done nothing to remedy this problem which will have long term consequences on the minds of the young. I think Mr. Upton is sleepwalking thru his terms until he can retire on a nice pension with full health care coverage. We need a new generation of leadership in Washington. Vote for Matt Longjohn for senator.
