County discusses website redesign, MSU Extension
CENTREVILLE — St. Joseph County commissioners will put on their agenda for Tuesday’s meeting a county website redesign proposal, following a presentation at the Wednesday, Nov. 9 executive committee meeting.
Amy Frost, president and senior developer of eStudio Design in Sturgis, who has worked with the county on the StJoeH2O Water Trails project, presented a plan to redesign and improve the website for $34,200, plus a $300/year hosting cost. She would like to start work at the beginning of January and launch the new site by the middle of March.
According to her proposal, “the new county website will act not only as a resource for information about the county’s government and departments, but also as a promotional platform to highlight the positive growth and development in our communities in order to attract new residents and businesses and to inform residents about services and resources they might not know are available.”
She plans to draw on the experience she gained working with the county on the water trails project, as well as her experience as a local business owner and county resident, to determine which items need to be promoted more or how to promote them in a better and more efficient way.
