District removes sinking fund from agenda
THREE RIVERS — The Three Rivers school board Monday, Nov. 21, voted 6-0 to remove the sinking fund from its agenda for the foreseeable future. Trustee Waneta Truckey was absent.
The board had tentatively been planning to put a three-year, 1.95-mill request on the ballot for May’s election, but at president Pete Bennett’s suggestion, decided to “defer to the board sworn in in January.” Three out of that board’s seven members will be new.
Treasurer Carl Barth said of next year’s board, “they’ll be the ones who have to support and sell it.”
