First place caps off Wildcats' record-breaking year for band

JENISON — The Three Rivers Band took First Place Overall at their final competition on Saturday at the Jenison Invitational with their show “Our Show is ... For the Birds!” Three Rivers also took caption awards for Best Music and Best Color Guard. This marks the third “first place” finish of the season, making it a record-breaking year for the band. Also competing in Class B were Dowagiac, Vicksburg, and Otsego bands.
“The band have been winners all season long, and I’m thrilled to see the judges felt the same way,” said director Bryan VanToll. “A tremendous amount of work has gone into learning and perfecting our show, and it’s great to see such a great response and recognition from our audience. Thank you to everyone who has come out to support our amazing band kids!”
The Three Rivers Band will support the varsity football team at upcoming playoff games, and will also be appearing at the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade on Saturday, Nov. 12.
