One Injured in Pokagon Township crash

POKAGON TOWNSHIP — One person was injured in a crash that occurred in Pokagon Township in Cass County Saturday.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on M-51 and Crystal Springs Road in Pokagon Township at around 4:32 a.m. A 60-year-old Dowagiac resident, Dean Pompey Jr., was south bound on M-51 when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the roadway, rolling his vehicle multiple times.
Pompey suffered no injuries. The passenger in Pompey’s vehicle suffered injuries and was transported to Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Alcohol and marijuana were suspected to be contributing to this accident.
Pride Care Ambulance, Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians Police Department, and Pokagon Township Fire assisted at the scene.
