Sheriff’s Department investigating two burglaries

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department are investigating two burglary incidents that occurred in the last month near Klinger Lake and Burr Oak.
On Aug. 19, deputies responded to the Klinger Lake public access in the 68000 block of Crooked Creek Rd., between White Pigeon and Sturgis, for a burglary to a motor vehicle. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the suspect illegally entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Springfield Armory model 911 pistol. The pistol is described as a black seven-shot pistol, accompanied with a brown leather holster.
Deputies are reminding people to keep their car doors locked at all times when their vehicle is unattended.
On Sept. 2, deputies responded to the 65000 block of Burr Oak Rd. north of Burr Oak for a burglary incident. The suspects stole five five-gallon gas cans filled with gasoline. According to the Sheriff’s Department, it appeared the suspects forced entry through the front door of the building, and filled the five gas cans from other gas cans in the building.
