‘Cats freshmen smash Bronson JV 38-0
BRONSON — The Three Rivers freshmen football team finished the season on a winning note Thursday beating Bronson’s JV team on the road 38-0.
The win allows the Wildcats to finish with a winning season with a record of 5-4.
“I am proud of how hard these kids worked this season. They have a very bright future,” said Three Rivers freshmen coach Zac Robare.
The Three Rivers defense forced Bronson into six turnovers in the game.
Josh Detwiler, Kybhren Street, Owen Harley, Eric Vergauwen and Khbren Street all had fumble recoveries for the Wildcats.
Harley also intercepted a pass for the Wildcats.
Three Rivers scored all of its points in the first half and had a running clock in the second half.
Jarred Stokes ran six yards for Three Rivers’ first touchdown and Chad Ludwig booted the PAT for a 7-0 Wildcats’ lead.
Devon Gidley scored on a 32-yard run to extend the ‘Cats lead to 12-0.
Vergauwen scooped up a fumble and returned it 37 yards for another Three Rivers TD and Ludwig’s PAT put the ’Cats up 19-0.
Street recovered a fumble in Bronson’s end zone to send Three Rivers into the second period holding a 25-0 advantage.
Jacob Crocker scored from five yards out to put Three Rivers up 31-0.
Gidley threw a 35-yard scoring pass to Parker Ellifritz and Ludwig booted the PAT to cap the ‘Cats scoring.
