Mendon runners second in First SW10 Conference Jamboree

BANGOR — Area runners competed Wednesday as the Southwest 10 Conference held its first league jamboree at Bangor.
Bangor won the boys’ meet with 47 points. Mendon (60) took second, Centreville (107) third, White Pigeon sixth (132) and Marcellus (144) placed seventh.
Bloomingdale’s girls were first with 48 points. Centreville (75) finished third, Marcellus fifth (135), and White Pigeon eighth (201).
Justus Chupp from Centreville was the overall winner in the boys’ race in 17:53.72.
Ross Hunter (16th, 20:37.84), Chad Spence (28th, 21:34.92), Terence Brueck (29th, 21:40.56) and Andrew Cropsey (33rd, 22:00. 26) completed the Bulldogs’ scoring.
Keaton Crotser’s fifth-place finish of 18:18.14 led Mendon.
Charlie Newburry (11th, 20:11.16), Jacob Dudley (13th, 20:24.75), Dakota Ames (14th, 20:27.09) and Connor Henckel (17th, 20:42.46) completed the Hornets’ scoring.
White Pigeon’s top five included Cole Shafer (18th, 20:43.34), Evan Atherton (24th, 21:15.12), Kobe Yoder (26th, 21:32.33), Nate Weber (30th, 21:44.88) and Bruno Martinez (35th, 22:47.26).
Marcellus scorers were Nolan Surach (9th, 19:28.17), Kyle McKenzie (23rd, 21:09.63), Andrew Pachay (25th, 21:23.35), Connor Hartline (42nd, 23:10.22) and Jason Morgan (59th, 25:51.06).
Emma Pachay of Marcellus finished fourth in 22:16.43.
Morgan Hartline (30th, 27:27.19), Lexi Bainbridge (34th, 27:53.52), Amy Steinkraus (36th, 28:21.65) and Melissa Steinkraus (40th, 29:05.22) completed the Lady Wildcats’ scoring.
Gabriella Schlabach (6th, 22:43.06) and Abagail Schlabach (7th, 22:48.92), Asia Pratel (18th, 24:46.78), Morgan Walton (20th, 25:20.58) and Cayla Ferrier (25th, 26:29.80) comprised Centreville’s scoring.
White Pigeon’s top runner was Audrey Baker (29th, 27:15.34 followed by Aurora Saddison (48th, 30:54.50), Angela Gibson (51st, 32:17.23), Kiley Lowery (52th, 32:20. 89) and Clara Varela (63rd, 36:27.28).
Mendon’s lone finisher was MaKenzie Oatley (47th, 30:08.80).
