Lady Cat netters sting Bees

BRIDGMAN — The Three Rivers varsity girls’ tennis team ventured to Bridgman Monday and returned home with a 8-0 win over the host Bees.
“I believe this was the hottest day we have played in. It was definitely a change for the girls. They weren’t quite used to needing to drink at every change over. But they played very well,” said Three Rivers coach Scott Turner.
Three Rivers won seven of the eight flights in straight sets.
At No. 1 singles, Erin Taylor of Three Rivers defeated Camille Baver 6-0, 6-3. At No. 2, Sidnee Arney of Three Rivers whipped Celeste Golland 6-0, 6-3. At No. 3, Abby Springer of Three Rivers topped Priscilla Brinker 6-2, 6-0. At No. 4, Megan Jacobs from Three Rivers earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over Amber Smith.
At No. 1 doubles, Three Rivers’ Mary Miller and Brianna Kupiec were victorious over Kennedy Melton and Magan Kiam 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.
At No. 2 doubles, Amy Abel and Olivia Guy from Three Rivers defeated Sydney Melton and Ashley Willer 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 3 doubles, Anna Dong and Lucy Dong of Three Rivers dispatched of Lauren McCall and Lilly Smith 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 4 doubles, Three Rivers’ Kayla Crippin and Mykala Dunson won by default.
