Lady Cats fall in 5-set thriller at home to Eddies in league match

THREE RIVERS — The Three Rivers varsity volleyball team dropped a five-set Wolverine Conference decision at home Thursday to Edwardsburg.
Erik Kore’s Lady Cats won the first two games 25-13, 26-24 but dropped the next three 17-25, 17-25, 12-15.
Shelby Krawczak had 18 kills for Three Rivers. Campbell Haradine added 16 and Karsyn Draime had eight.
Maya Bidelman and Hadley Miller both had 20 assists each for the Lady Cats.
Miller added three blocks.
Tessa Hawkins led Three Rivers defensively with 42 digs, while Krawczak and Bidelman added 25 each.
Junior varsity match
Three Rivers’ junior varsity volleyball team lost to Edwardsburg 10-25, 22-25.
Lizzie Bissett went 8-for-8 serving with one ace, two kills, four digs and five assists. Maddy Borst had two kills and seven digs. Alivia Knapp had one kill, one block and five digs.
Freshman match
Three Rivers dropped a 14-25, 16-25 decision to Edwardsburg in the freshmen match.
Carli Lehman and Brooklyn Furlong had two kills each for the Lady Cats. Alaina Todd, Maddy Fisher, Lexi McKenzie each added a kill. Brooke Mercer led the team with three service aces. Zoe Swartz and McKenzie added two aces and Shantel Blyly added one.
Three Rivers’ freshmen participate in the league tournament Saturday in Paw Paw.
