Lady Cats look to build on last year’s strong finish

THREE RIVERS — Coming off a late surge last season, the Three Rivers Lady Cats varsity girls’ basketball team hopes to begin the 2017-18 season in a similar fashion.
It all started Thursday at home for Three Rivers in a Wolverine Conference matchup at 7 p.m. against Vicksburg.
Three Rivers finished 10-14 last season, but caught fire in the Class B district tournament avenging earlier season losses to Wolverine Conference foes Paw Paw, Vicksburg and Edwardsburg. The Lady Cats dropped a 48-37 decision to Otsego in the Three Rivers Regional.
Jason Bingaman lost starting guards Rhyeli Krause and Cara Smith off that squad, along with Althea Kiser, Morgan Schneider and Libby Judsen to graduation.
