Mains qualifies for bowling finals
KALAMAZOO — Junior Wyatt Mains of Three Rivers has qualified for the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Division 2 state bowling meet.
Mains finished sixth in Saturday’s singles event with a score of 235.
The Top 10 finishers move onto state competition this Friday and Saturday in Canton.
Stephen Tolfree finished 16th in the singles event with a score of 224 followed by Bryce Kennedy who finished 22nd with a score of 210 out of 96 bowlers.
In the girls’ singles event, Breanna Roberts rolled a 210 to lead Three Rivers. Madison Smith ended up with a 143 and Faith Webb had a 143.
The event was held at Continental Lanes in Kalamazoo, also the site of Friday’s team event in Region 8 which Three Rivers competed in.
The Three Rivers boys finished seventh with 3761 total pins in the six Baker games and three-regular game format. The Lady Wildcats finished 16th with 1,585 total pins.
Mains rolled a 236 to lead the Three Rivers boys’ team. Mitchell LeVeck finished with a 202 followed by Tolfree with 188.
Roberts led the Three Rivers girls with a 155. Smith was next for the Lady Cats with 140 and Webb totaled 127.
Three Rivers coach Jim Tolfree expressed appreciation to his coaches, Rob Kline, Wayne Roberts, and Tracy Smith, and to the parents that went to all of their matches.
