Marcellus keeps White Pigeon winless

WHITE PIGEON — White Pigeon’s boys’ basketball team got outscored 18-9 in the fourth quarter and dropped a 51-40 decision at home Tuesday to Marcellus.
Jeff Baechler’s Chiefs, now 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the BCS League, trailed their guests 16-12 after one quarter. White Pigeon found itself down 25-20 entering halftime and was staring at a 34-31 deficit entering the fourth quarter.
Kamren Garten scored 16 points to go with two assists, two rebounds and three steals for White Pigeon. Zane Shoppell added eight points, one assist, one steal, two blocks and six rebounds. Austin Yoder had nine points, three assists and two rebounds. Noah Krull added seven points, four assists and seven rebounds.
