Mendon boys, Centreville girls win BCS Blue Division Meet
COMSTOCK — The Centreville, Mendon and White Pigeon track and field teams all competed in the BCS Conference Meet last week on Thursday at Comstock.
The meet was scored in three different divisions.
In the boys’ meet, Mendon won the Blue Division meet with 131 points. Centreville took second with 79 1/2) and White Pigeon placed third with 71 followed by Bronson (41) and Cassopolis (25 1/20.
Mendon’s Sam Cleveland won the 100-meter dash (11.70) and teammate Jordan Bell captured first in the 200 (24.96).
In the middle distances, Ross Hunter of Centreville captured first in the 400 (52.80) and teammate Jared Rank won the 800 (2:06.47).
In the distance races, Alex Heckman of Mendon won the 1600 (4:40.56) and Centreville’s Justus Chupp won the 3200 (10:44.95).
In the hurdles, Gavin Kopf of White Pigeon won the 110 highs (16.23) and 300 intermediate hurdles (42.61).
Mendon dominated in the relays, winning all four events.
Cleveland, Bell, Arjun Vorster and Ruben Vorster teamed up for first (45.42) in the 400 relay.
Cleveland, Kaden Frye, Bell and Ruben Vorster won the 800 relay (1:36.13).
Corbin Weinberg, Heckman, Frye and Ruben Vorster won the 1600 relay (3:36.55).
Weinberg, Jacob Hagenbuch, Heckman and Ruben Vorster won the 3200 relay (8:44.57).
Hunter Lovell of Mendon won high jump (5-8).
