Ritchie shines in Lady Cats’ girls soccer victory
SOUTH HAVEN — A long trip to the Lake Michigan shoreline was well worth the time Monday, as the Three Rivers varsity girls’ soccer team returned home with a 8-4 Wolverine Conference victory.
“We came out and played a good controlled game tonight. We distributed the ball and had good shots on goal and finished them in the net,” said Three Rivers varsity coach Pete Bachinski.
Kaitlin Ritchie scored Three Rivers’ first goal of the night at 26:08 with an assist from Kelsey Barrett.
Ritchie also scored Three Rivers’ second goal of the night (21:58) and made it a hat trick by tallying another goal before halftime at 16:25.
Barrett tallied the fourth goal for Three Rivers at 13:00 left in the second half off Olivia Carlisi’s assist.
Barrett scored the fourth and fifth goals at 13:00 and at 34:27 in the second half, Olivia Carlisi and Izzy Taylor assisted on Barrett’s two goals.
Ritchie added her fourth goal at the 26:04 mark off an assist by Carlisi.
Taylor added the Lady Cats’ seventh goal of the night at 22:48 and Barrett capped off the scoring with a goal at 16:45 of the match.
Jaylin Harbin had 13 keeper saves for Three Rivers.
