Lady Falcons go 2-1 at Kalkaska Tourney

CONSTANTINE — Constantine’s softball team competed in the Kalkaska Tournament Saturday finishing 2-1.
The Lady Falcons lost to Kalkaska 9-7 before earning consecutive wins over Charlevoix, 18-0, and Fraser, 9-1.
Emily Mallo took the loss against Kalkaska in relief of Mercedes Cole, going the last two innings allowing four runs with one strikeout.
Cole tossed the first four frames allowing six hits, four runs, four walks with four strikeouts.
Kallie Sears had two hits, including a home run. Kim Maddox added a single and double. Brianna Herrick and Cole each added a base hit.
Constantine made short work of Charlevoix piling up two runs in the first, six in the second and 10 during the third before the game ended on the mercy rule.
Mallo earned the win throwing a one-hitter with four strikeouts.
Maddox doubled. Cole had three hits, while Trasandra Ragsdale, Mallo and Sears all had two base hits and Macey Tulley and Herrick added one hit apiece.
Cole threw a two-hitter in the win over Fraser with one walk and 10 strikeouts.
Maddox and Herrick both hit a home run for the Lady Falcons. Maddox added a pair of singles. Herrick, Ragsdale and Kloe Pettit all had a double. Sears, Tulley and Pettit all added a single.

Lady Bulldogs 1-1 in own tourney
CENTREVILLE — Centreville’s softball team finished 1-1 in its annual Bulldog Tournament Saturday.
Scott Logan’s Lady Bulldogs lost to Athens 6-4, before finishing with a 9-2 win over Sturgis.
Centreville committed six errors in the loss to Athens.
Emma Russell was tagged with the loss for the Lady Bulldogs. Russell went the distance allowing nine hits with seven strikeouts.
Morgan Walton socked a triple for Centreville. Olivia Deeds added two doubles. Kaylee Trattles also had a double.
Deeds had two RBI.
Mckenzie Sheteron recorded the win for Centreville against Sturgis. Sheteron gave up eight hits, one walk with three strikeouts.
Jaeden Blades, Skyler Demeyer and Joanna Larsen all had triples for the Lady Bulldogs. Larsen, Sheteron and Makenzie Troyer all added a double.
Demeyer, Larsen and Sheteron all drove in two runs apiece.
