Three Rivers JV trounces Vicksburg
VICKSBURG – The Three Rivers junior varsity football team earned a 32-6 Wolverine Conference victory at Vicksburg Thursday.
Travis Rohrer’s Wildcats finish the season with an overall record of 5-4.
Three Rivers built a 3-0 lead after the first quarter on a 30-yard field goal by Bryce Morlan.
The Wildcats put 22 points on the scoreboard in the second quarter to extend its lead to 25-0 entering halftime.
Gavin Charvat ran 15 yards for a Three Rivers touchdown and Morlan’s PAT made it 10-0.
Morlan hauled in two TD passes of 50 and 28 yards from quarterback Jalen Heivilin.
Morlan added a PAT and also threw a two-point conversion pass to Hunter Zinsmaster.
Vicksburg scored its only TD during the third quarter.
Charvat hauled in a 20-yard scoring pass from Heivilin and Morlan booted the PAT to cap off the Wildcats; scoring.
Three Rivers rushed the ball 33 times for 209 yards.
Nolan Mark gained 135 yards on the ground for Three Rivers. Heivilin added four rushes for 21 yards and completed 10-of-20 passes for 192 yards and two TDs with one interception.
Morlan was the ‘Cats top receiver on the night hauling in five passes for 112 yards and one TD. Charvat caught two for 51 and Mitchell Coney had one reception for 29 yards.
Morlan also had eight tackles for Three Rivers’ defense. Romeo Jordan added seven stops, Josh Draper six and Mark, Coney and Ryan Miller all had five tackles apiece.
Heivilin and Richard Scare both had one interception.
