Three Rivers runners finish 2-2 in Wolverine Conference Jamboree
PAW PAW — The Three Rivers boys’ cross country team finished 2-2 Tuesday in its Wolverine Conference Jamboree II meets at Paw Paw.
Three Rivers lost to Vicksburg 18-37 and Plainwell 26-31 but came away with wins over Paw Paw 28-31 and Dowagiac 24-35.
Jon Scare of Three Rivers placed seventh in 18:21.
Cole Appoloni was next for the Cats in 14th place with a time of 18:57.
Also figuring in the Wildcats’ scoring were Davis Dickerson (17th, 19:34), Andrew Johnson (18th, 19:37) and Colby Hasse (19th, 19:43).
Rounding out the list of finishers for Three Rivers were Logan Borst (21st, 19:51), Alec Robinson (22nd, 19:59), Donald Munro (26th, 20:14), Nate Adams (31st, 20:47), Logan Kirby (34th, 21:30) and Logan Bierlein (36th, 21:41).
“The team ran well as a group,” said Three Rivers boys’ coach Alex Schmidtendorff. “Cole Appoloni had a great race helping ensure the win over Paw Paw. Alec Robinson had one of his better performances as well finishing in the top seven for the team.”
In the girls’ meet, Three Rivers defeated Paw Paw 20-40 and Dowagiac 15-50, and lost to Vicksburg 23-33 and Plainwell 21-38.
“We started the race aggressively and were doing great through one mile,” said Three Rivers girls' coach Josh Bell. “We had a hard time carrying that aggressiveness to the end of the race.
