TR JV baseball smacks Paw Paw
PAW PAW — Three Rivers’ junior varsity baseball team came away with a pair of wins at Paw Paw on Friday 6-1 and 17-3.
“We played great defense and only had one field error in each game, and we pitched very well. We have had some pretty good performances this season, but this is the best back-to-back effort yet against a quality opponent,” said Three Rivers JV coach Chad Coney.
Three Rivers, now 15-10 overall and 10-6 in the Wolverine Conference, blasted out 29 hits on the night as a team, including several multiple base hits.
Carter Minger was the winning pitcher in game one for Three Rivers allowing just one hit with seven strikeouts.
Andrew Rodaks had three hits, including a double. Parker Ellifritz added a single and double with two RBI. Minger added two hits, one being a double. Austin Schrader belted two singles with two RBI. Devon Gidley had two base hits. Mitchell Coney added a run-scoring single, while Colby Haase had a single and Richard Scare drove in one run for the ‘Cats, who had four stolen bases.
