WAYLAND — The Three Rivers varsity volleyball team competed in Saturday’s Wayland Union Tournament.
Erik Kore’s Lady Cats, now 12-13-3 overall, opened pool play by splitting matches with Wayland Union 25-20, 16-25 and Traverse City Central 19-25, 25-23 and concluded pool play with a loss to Zeeland West 16-25, 14-25.
Three Rivers then faced Hopkins in the Silver Bracket playoffs and lost 17-25, 26-24, 10-15.
“We had some success attacking from the middle today, hitting at a .250 clip. But we had a harder time terminating from the outside,” Kore said.
Middle hitter Hannah Orzol finished the day with 15 kills. Hadley Miller added seven and Abby Springer ended up with six.
Libby Judsen led the outside hitters with 15 kills, while Shelby Krawczak added 11 and Campbell Haradine finished with eight. Zoey Willson’s six kills included one for game point.
Maya Bidelman totaled 33 assists and Darian Cole added 27.
Tessa Hawkins led Three Rivers defensively with 67 digs, while Morgan Schneider added 29 and Bidelman finished with 28.
Krawczak had a good day at the net with three solo blocks and three assists
