THREE RIVERS — The Three Rivers varsity volleyball team finished Saturday’s Wolverine Conference Tournament at home with a 2-1 record.
That record secured fifth place in the league for the Lady Cats.
Three Rivers, a No. 6 seed, lost to No. 3 seeded Vicksburg in its opening match of the day 19-25, 18-25.
The Lady Cats would rebound to beat No. 7 seeded Sturgis 25-14, 25-22 and No. 5 seeded Paw Paw 25-22, 17-25, 15-12.
Shelby Krawczak led Three Rivers with 16 kills. Campbell Haradine added 14 kills, Libby Judsen 13, Hannah Orzol seven and Hadley Miller and Abby Springer added three each.
Orzol added eight blocks. Krawczak added four and Haradine and Judsen finished with two each.
Maya Bidelman totaled 33 assists and Darian Cole had 22.
Tessa Hawkins led the defense for Three Rivers with 57 digs. Krawczak added 31, Bidelman 17 and Morgan Schneider had 15.
Hawkins also led the team with three aces.
“A goal in the conference tournament is to better your seed and we accomplished that,” said Three Rivers coach Erik Kore. “Our goal next year will be to win the first match of the day so we’re playing for first through fourth place. I also want to thank all the workers who volunteered their their time in helping to host the event. There were lots of donated hours today and all season long.”
It was the final home match for Lady Cat seniors Cole, Judsen, Orzol, Schneider, Springer and Zoey Willson.
