Wildcat boys’ soccer team falls in district semifinals to Niles

MATTAWAN — The Three Rivers varsity boys’ soccer team dropped a 2-0 Division 3 district semifinal decision to Niles Thursday at Mattawan.
Three Rivers coach Alli Jacobs was pleased with how her team played during the match.
The two teams also met earlier this season with Niles beating Three Rivers 8-0.
“We saw Niles earlier in the season and we fell to them 8-0. Tonight we played together as a team and played with heart and determination,” Jacobs said.
“As a coach, you expect your team to peak leading into the state tournament. We did just that. Tonight was our best game of the season and I couldn’t be more proud of this team.”
Three Rivers will graduate 10 seniors off this year’s team. They include Drew Ziesmer, Michael Dangovian, Andrew Lough, Andrew Johnson, Austin Krawczak, Danny Martinez, Jael Soto, Vikas Kumar, Carter Todd and Andrew Gilleylen.
