Wildcats clinch South Division title
THREE RIVERS — The Three Rivers boys’ basketball team can cross goal one off its preseason list.
Brian Burg’s Wildcats officially clinched the Wolverine Conference South Divisional title with a 55-43 win at home Monday over Edwardsburg in a makeup game.
The Cats, who remain a perfect 6-0 in the South and 11-4 overall, still have two divisional contests left at Dowagiac and Vicksburg the next two Fridays.
In a worst-case scenario, Three Rivers could lose both those contests and still win the division outright. The Cats currently hold a three-game lead on second-place Sturgis.
The conference championship game will be played at Three Rivers on Thursday, March 2 against the North Divisional champions. South Haven currently sits in first place in that division.
