ARTHUR "ART" JOHN DYKSTRA

Arthur “Art” John Dykstra, age 90, of Three Rivers, went to be with his Lord peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Safe Haven Assisted Living. He was born on April 4, 1930 in Sioux Center, Iowa, son of the late John and Anna (Wyma) Dykstra.

Art served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. On June 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mrs. Nelva (Kraai) Dykstra. Art and Nelva were faithful members of the Three Rivers Christian Reformed Church and later, Bethany Chapel, where they made many lasting friendships.

Art took pride in serving his community. He was the founding father of the Three Rivers Youth Bowling League and served as President of the Three Rivers Jaycees. Art also served as Chairman of the annual Three Rivers Community Chest Drive. Art worked as a sales representative, and later in customer service, for the Michigan Gas & Electric Company (Semco Energy) before his retirement.

Art was preceded in death by his wife, Nelva, his parents, John and Anna, brother, Martin, and three sisters, Kathrine, Annetta, and Jeanette.

Art leaves to cherish his loving memory, four sons, Terrill (Joan), Dennis (Jeanie), Arlen (Joyce), and David (Diane) Dykstra; brother, Chuck (June) Dykstra; ten beloved grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at this time and a celebration of Mr. Dykstra’s life will take place at a later date.

Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
