BILLY R. HANSON, SR.
Billy R. Hanson, Sr., age 88, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather passed away Saturday, Dec. 23 at home with his loved ones.
He was born Aug. 20, 1929 in Pontiac, Mich., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Clara Hanson.
He served in the Army from 1952 through 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska. He served in the army from 1952 through 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Billy worked as an electrical lineman along the Alaskan Highway, while traveling in a camper with his wife and three small children before his honorable discharge. He lived in Wisconsin and Michigan working as a farmer to support his family. Billy also worked for Exxes Wire and TSC in Three Rivers. He then retired with his wife Lorraine of 66 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, her parents, his parents and son-in-law Timothy Calhoun.
Billy is survived by his sons: Billy R. Jr. and Mickey D. Hanson; daughters: Tina L. (Tim) Calhoun, Corinne L. (Larry) Gillespie, Theresa D. Hanson, and Belinda K. (William) Pullen; grandchildren: Corey (Jessie) Harley, Craig (Amy) Harley, Samuel and Christopher Roberts, and Brian Hanson; great grandchildren: Julia, Olivia, Hannah, and Claire.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Post #170, 59990 S. Main St., Three Rivers, MI with Pastor Brian Lutz officiating.
Memorial donations may be directed to The American Legion. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home and the Legion on the day of service.
