STEVEN MICHAEL MUIR
Steven Michael Muir, 71, of Orlando, Fla., died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 under the compassionate care of the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla. Steve was born in Three Rivers on Oct. 19, 1945, the son of Duane and Viola (Egnew) Swan, both preceding him in death. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1966-1969, where he received a National Defense Service Medal. While being assigned to serve under a Five Star Admiral with top secret clearance, he was stationed aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, deployed to the blue waters of Vietnam. His home naval base was Norfolk, Va., where he met his loving wife and lifelong companion, Kathleen (Delap). They were married in April of 1968. Steve worked in sales after receiving his Associates Degree and finished his career with Edward Don and Company in 2004. He attended the Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene, was a former member of the American Legion and was very involved in the Three Rivers Community Schools Band Boosters and other activities while his daughters attended. He enjoyed all sports including football, basketball, golf and bowling. He often listened to music, loved cooking, played cards in his Florida community, traveled and especially loved vacationing in Hilton Head, S.C.
Surviving is his wife, Kathleen of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Beth (Maurice) Espinel of Palm Bay, Fla. and Leah (Peter) Kemp of Lowell; three grandchildren, Hunter Chisholm, Maya Kemp and Elliott Kemp.
