WILLIAM LEON PRICE
William Leon Price, age 90, of Sturgis passed away Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 1, 2017 at his home.
He was born May 12, 1927 in Terre Haute, Ind., son of the late Raymond D. and Mildred A. (Miller) Price. Bill resided in the Sturgis and Three Rivers area most of his life, and attended Three Rivers High School.
On March 26, 1983 he married Linda H. Lanier in Sturgis.
Bill retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following many years of dedicated employment as a forklift operator.
He was a member of the Light and Life Wesleyan Church in Three Rivers, and was very proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Siboney earning the rank of Seaman Second Class.
Bill loved the outdoors, traveling, mushroom hunting, riding motorcycles and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife: Linda; two daughters: Brenda (Leonard) Eggelston of Three Rivers and Willodean (Michael) Kurtz of Rome City, Ind.; one step-daughter: Penni (Mike) Kerschner of Utah; two step-sons: Rodney (Michelle) Pickern of Schoolcraft and Larry Pickern of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Dyana VanWagner; three brothers: Bud Price, Harvey Price and Junior Price and two sisters: Colleen Robinson and Marian Coler.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of William Price will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Light and Life Wesleyan Church in Three Rivers. The Rev. Sam Maddox will officiate. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis where full military honors will be conferred by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW.
