Car crashes into downtown building, three injured

THREE RIVERS — A downtown building was damaged and a driver was airlifted after a car crash in downtown Three Rivers early Saturday morning.

According to the Three Rivers Police Department, officers were dispatched at 3:01 a.m. to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building downtown. Upon arrival, officers located a Dodge Charger that was lodged in the building, one that houses PinUp Salon.

The crash did not get into the salon itself, which operated as normal Saturday morning, with the car crashing into an apartment entryway staircase and the left side of the building’s frontage.

The driver and one passenger were reportedly out of the vehicle with injuries upon police arrival, with another passenger still trapped in the vehicle with injuries. The driver was airlifted to Kalamazoo for treatment, and the two passengers were treated at Three Rivers Health. The incident is under investigation, and police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
