Woman arraigned after stabbing
CONSTANTINE — A 29-year-old Constantine woman was arrested following a stabbing shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13.
Denise Cherise Conley was arraigned Friday, Oct. 14 on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence. Her bond was set at $5,000 cash/surety.
The Constantine Police Department was called to the Elm Tree Apartments on Meadow Lane on a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival the police spoke with a 30-year-old Kalamazoo man who reported that he’d been stabbed by a female acquaintance in one of the apartments. The victim had a stab or puncture wound in his left upper-chest and was transported to the Three Rivers Health Emergency Room and from there to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo but has since been released.
Investigating officers are not certain what type of weapon was used to inflict the injury.
The Constantine Police Department was assisted by the White Pigeon Police Department, the Michigan State Police and by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
