Old Hospital bricks to be given away

“First-come, first-serve” pickup begins Nov. 28

THREE RIVERS — Bricks from the old Three Rivers Hospital building will soon be available to the community.

The Three Rivers Department of Public Services (DPS) announced Monday night that bricks from the building, which is currently being demolished, will be available for the community to pick up on a “first-come, first-serve” basis on Monday, Nov. 28 beginning at noon.

The brick pickup will be located in the two middle driveway openings to the Old Hospital property along Millard Street.

In an interview last week, City Manager Joe Bippus said the bricks being given away are from areas of the building that did not have asbestos in them and have been cleaned up ahead of time.

DPS officials asked those visiting the site to pick up bricks be respectful of others and “only take enough bricks for memorabilia for you and your family.”
