Police seeking two missing Centreville girls (UPDATED)

UPDATED 10:30 A.M. 8/5/22: The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department reports the missing children from Centreville, 6-year-old Alexandra Jay Prewitt and 11-year-old Jerrica Hope Tucker, have been located safe and recovered. One person is reportedly in police custody at this time.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department was assisted in the recovery by Michigan State Police and the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

CENTREVILLE — Michigan State Police are currently seeking the public's help in finding two missing children out of Centreville.

Police say 6-year-old Alexandra Jay Prewitt and 11-year-old Jerrica Hope Tucker were reported missing from the yard of their foster parents at approximately 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Thomas Ct. and Center Ct. in Centreville.

Alexandra is described as 3 feet, 7 inches and 45 pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes, wearing a white shirt, pink shorts with white stripes, and pink crocs. Jerrica is described as 4 feet, 6 inches and 70 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a gray shirt, black leggings and blue crocs.

According to police, they believe the children were taken by their biological mother, Samantha Hope Prewitt, who they say reportedly lost rights to the children and recently threatened to take them as they played outside. She is reportedly with a man, Scott Gray. Police are looking for a dark blue 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan with Michigan license plate EPE5916.
