Lady Cats swept by Eddies
VICKSBURG — A young Three Rivers varsity girls' volleyball team made a quick exit from the postseason Wednesday with a 16-25, 9-25, 17-25 Class B district loss to Edwardsburg.
“Edwardsburg is a real powerful team, but we just weren't able to match their intensity tonight,” said Three Rivers second-year coach Erik Kore.
Earlier this season Three Rivers had managed to take a game off Edwardsburg before losing that match as well.
“Tonight they came out on fire and we came out flat,” Kore said.
Three Rivers, which finishes with an overall record of 17-19-5 moved up from ninth place in the Wolverine Conference in 2015 to fifth place this season.
“That is a solid step forward so the goal next year would be to be in the top half of the league,” Kore said.
