MOSES H. TROYER

Moses H. Troyer passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 9, 2020 from Covid-19 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.  He slipped away peacefully with his loving son, Brad, and his granddaughter, Mackenzie, by his side. 

Moses was born on February 25, 1940 in Mazie, OK to Harvey and Verna (Coblentz) Troyer. He later moved to Indiana as a young boy.

He married Connie Anglemyer on July 8, 1961; she survives. 

He attended Middlebury High School, and later worked at Wilt’s Food Center in Elkhart, working his way up to store manager.  Moses and his wife owned Troyer’s Super Valu grocery in White Pigeon, MI in 1971 until 2008.  He was a very hard worker and bright businessman.  Moses also owned Dirt Buster Car Wash in White Pigeon and Schoolcraft, MI, Video Hits Plus in Kalamazoo and Portage, MI, and Cartridge World in Kalamazoo, MI. 

Moses had a great love for sports, especially Notre Dame and Tom Brady. He also enjoyed 40 years at his lake house in Union, MI, and enjoyed boating and barbecues with family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Brad (Michelle) Troyer, Schoolcraft, MI, and daughter Jennifer (Chris) Hunter, Lexington, KY; five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Noah, Reilly, Jacob, and Violet; six brothers: Howard (Sheila) Troyer, Riverton, WY, Lloyd (Millasa) Troyer, Osceola, IN, Harvey Troyer, Seattle, WA, Jerry Troyer, Jupiter, FL, Glenn (Connie) Troyer, Goshen, IN, John (Donna) Troyer, Mishawaka, IN; and two sisters, Emma (Sam) Hershberger, Middlebury, IN, and Rachel (Kenny) Chronister, Owasso, OK.

His brother, Wilbur Troyer, and sister, Irene Love preceded him in death. 

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday May 8 at 11 a.m. at White Pigeon Church of Christ.

Visitation is also available at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at the church, 70428 Kalamazoo St. White Pigeon, MI 49099.
