Cover wins write-in election for TR Board of Education partial term
THREE RIVERS — The final piece of the Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education’s board puzzle has been placed.
Incumbent Nichole Cover, who was appointed to the Board on Oct. 11, 2021, won re-election to a partial two-year term in a write-in race during the Nov. 8 election.
Cover was one of three certified write-in candidates for the election, along with former GOP state House of Representatives candidate Jack Coleman and former board member Anne Riopel. According to official election results in St. Joseph County, Cover received 125 qualified votes, Coleman received 90 and Riopel received 36. A total of 647 “unqualified” write-in votes were tallied.
Cover will be up for re-election in 2024. She joins Linda Baker, Erin Nowak and Ross Daniels, who were elected for full terms in the November election.
