Local students Think! Energy
THREE RIVERS — This week, local students learned about energy efficiency and natural resources with an interactive presentation, receiving kits to make their homes more energy efficient. The program, Think! Energy, is an initiative aimed at increasing energy literacy for students in grades 4-6 while increasing the energy efficiency of homes throughout Michigan. The program is sponsored in our area by Indiana Michigan Power, SEMCO ENERGY Gas Company, the Michigan Department of Education and the National Energy Foundation.
Think! Energy is in its seventh year, being delivered to over 19,000 students and teachers in Michigan this fall. It includes a 60-minute in-school presentation focusing on renewable and nonrenewable energy resources, electrical circuits and energy efficiency, including simple behaviors and technologies that will help increase the efficiency of our homes and schools.
